Specialties

In addition to addressing general issues in mental health (such as anxiety, depression, and trauma-related difficulties), I work closely with individuals, children, youth, and families to address conflicts in relationships, cultural and multicultural issues, and identity development. I specialize in working with 1.5 and 2nd generation immigrants and their families. Korean page here.

I think of my role as a therapist to be a “bridge person,” someone who helps bridge gaps between people, cultures, and generations.

Wonyoung L. Cho, PhD, LMFT

I think of the therapy space to be a place to experiment new ways of thinking, new ways of communicating, and new ways of doing things. And experimenting isn’t always successful the first time, so it is important for the therapy space to be safe. It should be a place you can come to have difficult conversations.
